Plans needed for loft conversion please

Recommended Posts

We're planning on converting the loft of our 3 bed semi into a bedroom possibly with ensuite if we can afford it. The roof needs raising as the head height isn't great and the gable end needs building up. I've had 1 architect come round and quote £850 to do survey, drawings, submit for planning approval and building regs and am just wondering if I could get a better price as every penny saved could help us afford an ensuite as well.

So any recommendations for architects or numbers or quotes would be most appreciated. Thanks

Try gary at G9 design he will follow it all the way through from drawing, submitting and liasing etc he is also working with an approved building inspector company which keeps costs down and speds things up.

He did a loft conversion for us and I have just passed him a cellar conversion in the past few weeks.

After the plannng was passed he did the working drawings and submitted those the whole thing was constructed and passed no problems.

Hope this helps

If you don't mind me asking, who did you choose and why??

It's useful to know for future reference and maybe for other forummers
