Glue it to a large sheet of plywood (face down, so as not to offend worms) and bury it at the bottom of the garden

I quite like the idea of the huge perspex, or chopping it up smaller and then putting it back together, I'm never going to sell it, so I guess a few of these ideas will work

If you are never going to sell it, you could consider mounting it on board/perspex/etc and then coating with a clear varnish.

maybe the university of sheffield printers? they did a huge map for me not so long ago. they're in between the arts tower and weston park, (0114) 222 1220. they do foam board mounting, laminating etc, maybs not that big but perhaps worth a try.
