City Centre Ambassadors/Security are Unhelpful

Yesterday i was layed on the grass around devonshire green skatepark with a couple of friends when all of a sudden a group of angry horrible mouthy and very rude set of 14 too 18 year old emo kids all started to been very abusive towards myself and my friends i thought i would go and try and calm the situation down by going over and talking too them insted this turned into a major argument with the group of random kids and myself this then escalated into them starting to try fighting with the people i was sat with as i was sat with 4 girls and there was around 20 of these kids i decided to step in and try to sort the situtaion out again as one of the males involved in the argument started to threaten all the females with "kicking thier <removed> heads in" all the time this was going on there were a city centre ambassador around 10 feet away doing absolutly nothing apart from laughing at the situation, i find this disgraceful and very frightening that someone who is ment to keep our city secure was doing nothing to help calm the situtation. ive been going down to devonshire green for around 9 years skateboarding and over the last 3 years these "ambassadors" have got more and more jokes for a job. A few people i know have video footage of one of them taking alcohol off one set of people on the grass and then handing it over too the alcoholics and the local group of people who sit there causing trouble.

 

I would like to make a formal complain about these "security" but i cant find anywhere that would deal with my complaint i am wondering if anyone else has any idea of where to contact someone about this, i would also like to hear other peoples views on this.

Sorry to hear of this trouble you encountered ashhall, but the 'ambassadors' are not intended to police the city centre. It was a matter for the police, who are never usually far away from Dev Green.

Perhaps they can be part of the 25% cuts in local authority spending? They certainly don't seem to be providing value for money.

this is what i mean its a complete waste of goverment money as i know they are on at least £8 an hour...for doing what exacltey its disgraceful. dev green area is my local as ive been skating there for 9 years like a say and the police dont come down there that often anymore its up to the ambassadors to handle things and its just disgusting.

supposably they are there to stop anti social behaviour ... but they cant arrest anyone or do anything other than stand in the middle of it. its <removed> and we are wasting money on these fools with no bloody direction in life... god damn it im a tax payer and pay for there job role now i want to see something for my money

It appears they are also litter pickers and biohazard removal specialists (well picking up used needles)

I didnt realise that the post office just off fargate is now a hair salon.its been quite a while since ive needed to send a package you see. I saw a city centre ambassador stood outside the old monk pub and asked him if he knew where the post office had moved to or where the nearest one is. He said he hadn't got a clue, and then walked off. Possibly the most unhelpful person I've ever come across and we are paying for him with our hard earned taxes.this country is a joke! Gave up and went to hillsborough post office instead

its quite dangerous when its like 20 mixed females and males all ranting at one guy and then end of it if it would have come to a fight it would have been fun cause i would love to knock them out but im abit more civilised than that!
