andyofborg   11 #110 Posted June 26, 2010 Nobody threatened him. They tried to engage with him. He refused.  Not really the behaviour that you might expect from an elected representative.  ETA: You surely don't think that he would have been physically attacked, do you?  and he was right to refuse, you can't engage a mob  all the mob wanted to do was shout and wave placards at him
 Share this content via...

Lady Star   10 #112 Posted June 26, 2010 he should be given the keys to the city, he's a hero  Brilliant! Keys to a city that he has to creep in and out of, since it seems the vast majority hate him... He's obviously a coward and can't stand up for himself - perhaps Cameron is acting as his spine? Grandad.Malky   11 #113 Posted June 26, 2010 My private sector pension was based on my final salary, is guaranteed and rises in line with inflation but I'd hardly call it gold-plated.  .  Gold-plated, bullet proof call it what you want the fact is that final salary pensions are unsustainable for private companies and are being closed to new comers or even closed altogether.  Now if you are in a Public sector pension there is no fear of that happening as joe-bloggs will keep funding it. Dan_Ashcroft   10 #119 Posted June 26, 2010 You seem to be living in a pipe dream. The result of the last election was a vote against Gordon Brown. It was whipped up by the television and the press. It definitely was not a vote in favour of the tories, or against the Labour party itself. It was against one man.  All Cameron had to do was let the media do his work for him, and be a shoo in. Instead he cocked up, due to his inbred venality and arrogance, his inate belief that everyone must admire and love him.  If he cannot score in an open goal, what chance has he of running a country?  Yet in spite of their austerity measures, nationally it is at the moment the most popular govenment since 1997.
