Petrol tank drilled! Where can I get a patch?

Recommended Posts

what model mitsubishi is it? maybe someone can help you find a replacement tank or tell you where to buy a new one

Most grey imports bear no resemblance whatsoever to whats stated on the v5.

All good motor factors will be able to source parts by imputting the reg.no.

Unfortunately fuel tanks are pretty specialised and if you manage to find one i would think it will be quite expensive.

You should be fine with a patch if you follow the instructions.

Ain't that the truth. My old Delica used to say Mageruis Deutz on the V5.

And Petrol Patches don't work. Weld it or glue it.

Drain out all of the petrol by making the existing hole a bit bigger with a hammer and screwdriver but make sure you wear a diving mask so the fuel doesn't splash in your eyes. Then mix 10 litres of fibreglass resin and activator and pour it in the fuel filler after making sure you have blocked the enlarged hole up using a wine cork or similar bottle stopper(bettaware do a good one).

It worked for me and the fuel tank now costs twelve pounds less to fill up.
