OOmpa 10 #2 Posted May 17, 2010 To actually buy any of the photo's it will cost a few hundred pounds and they are only 12" x 12" you will probably get 3 different pictures for approx £700. Some are a couple of grand depending on the frames and images, there's nothing cheaper. When you have been for the photoshoot they will invite you back for a viewing of all the pictures and then choose which you want, if any. The photos are fantastic though! Personally I think they are pricey but everyone's views are different.
 Share this content via...
julado 10 #3 Posted May 17, 2010 I haven't been personally but my other half went there with his ex. Loads of photos were taken.....most of which were then photoshopped.....and then they hit you with prices.....VERY, VERY expensive. My partner said he only wanted the small 7x5 one. They weren't right impressed but he got his photo. I must admit it's nice but it doesn't look like him....his eyes are too blue and his face has been smoothed and the tones balanced. Its a strange "arty" pose too......he didn't end up getting the one he wanted either.....but hey ho you pay £15 you takes your choice. I wouldn't go anywhere near one of these types of places. I personally wouldn't have even spent £15. There are plenty of good amateur photographers on this site alone.....see specialist photography section....surely someone from there could take some lovely photos - with less of the editing.....more of the reality....and for less money. With outfits like Ventura it's high pressure selling....based partly on guilt tripping you to feel mean about not buying pictures of your loved one (or whoever is in the photo). rach0106 10 #5 Posted May 17, 2010 My mum booked us one of these when my little boy was a few months old. Don't get me wrong they took some beautiful photos but then they told us the prices and I nearly fell to the floor. We couldn't even afford one!! £95 for one small photo is crazy and I'm afraid it doesn't get any cheaper. As the pp said - they run into the thousands. johno 10 #7 Posted May 17, 2010 I have some friends that have had some very nice picture done by them. I would imagine that they have large overheads, but yes it’s still very expensive. I have just recently spent around £1500 on new kit plus the same again on a Imac to edit my photographs and I am just an amateur. I kind of understand that it wouldn’t be cheap but £95 for one print!!!! Give me a PM and i will come and take some for you
 Share this content via...
JS123 10 #8 Posted May 17, 2010 Just to confirm what the others say- they are REALLY expensive; our friends paid over £1500 for theirs. They kind of trap you because the photos are so beautiful it's hard to resist! Try to enjoy your freebie and remember there are loads of accomplished photographers out there that can produce just as beautiful piccies at a fraction of the cost x
 Share this content via...

carlos 10 #12 Posted May 17, 2010 These are the prices you might expect to pay if you were a large business wanting some corporate shots, they're way overpriced for people wanting a few family portraits. There are plenty of local photographers, who charge less and produce excellent photos. My favourite local photographer is Chris Saunders, have a look at his sight, don't know what his prices are, or if he takes family type photos though. http://www.chrismsaunders.com/frame/portraitsframe.html
 Share this content via...
