jongo   10 #16 Posted May 1, 2010 Sorry, there were some crossed wires. I was invited by the vicar of St. Polycarp's, then some time later somebody mentioned St. John's, so I emailed asking where the meeting was, then received an email saying the meeting at Church on the Corner had been cancelled, so made arrangement to go to the nuclear power debate at Hallam Uni instead. I checked through my emails this morning and couldn't find anything that specified a location, just emails saying the date signed vicar of St. Polycarp's.  Is it your policy to bring the age limit of starring in porn films down to 16 ? matsalleh   10 #17 Posted May 1, 2010 (edited) So Mr Harston I live in your constituency, why should I vote for you? Your leader does not appear to be too sure on his facts and figures. Why does he want to give amnesty to illegal immigrants? He should be asking why there is 1 illegal immigrant in the country not 6 or 600,000 or whatever the figure is.Bigot I don't think so,just what a large number of people want to know. Logiebaird your posts are now boring. Edited May 1, 2010 by matsalleh
 Share this content via...

harvey19 Â Â 541 #20 Posted May 2, 2010 Whilst it is not seem right to offer an amnesty to illegal imigrants what other option is there. The other 2 parties do not seem to have a solution. The illegals do not appear to be getting deported as they refuse to disclose their country of origin. If they were legal at least they would be able to work legally and pay tax and national insurance contributions. The down side is they would probably be able to claim benefits without having paid anything into the system. Nick Clegg is at least trying to find a way forward. Tony   10 #21 Posted May 2, 2010 Mexico locks up illegal immigrants for 2 years. The second offence gets (ISTR) 10 years. You can decide upon your own ironies.  Back to the UK, would a combination of a draconian penalty for remaining illegal alongside a rational and sensible amnesty solution be a workable solution? A thread that stimulates a bit of thinking would be welcome from the usual  are we supposed to think?  i only suggested it as we seemed to be veering onto immigration rather then exploring the lib dem candidate and/or logie's paranoia
 Share this content via...
