How much to re gas a fridge/freezer?

Hi.Does anyone out there know how much it costs to re gas a fridge/freezer?I had a quote of 80.00 from one repair man,then it dropped to 50.00 when i said i wouldn't bother! Not sure what the true cost is,so if there is anyone thats had this type of repair done, or even someone that can do this repair for me,then please get in touch.The unit is in fabulous condition, and i'm loathe to get shut of it, if it can be repaired relatively cheaply. Thanks.

I believe A1 Domestics on Halifax Rd do this, but depends I suppose on how far away you live. If it's a "frost- free" type though , they might shy away.

Many people would consider it time to get a new one from Comet

with an 'A' energy efficiency grading.

 

You may well be attached to the old one but it could be costing

you a packet in running costs, compared to a modern one.

There could also be an underlying fault, ie, a slow leak might have developed in the pipe system, in which case a re-gassing will only be temporary.

Had ours re-gassed last year. Cost £80.

Damn Indesit rubbish........it was only just over a year and half old!
