EdnaKrabappe   14 #231 Posted June 1, 2007 I don't like having songs that make me cry. You should like a song for its own sake so I don't really like it when they become associated with a memory for me.  However, I am but human so the suspects are:  Bright Eyes... Art Garfunkel I just think of the film and I'm off!  My last tango... Nerina Pallot... I'd just got into her and was going through a pappy break up early last Summer where neither of us wanted to split up but circumstance made us (all for the right reasons.) Every time this came on I'd burst into tears! Shame as it's a beautiful song.  You do something to me... Paul Weller... My best mate had it as her second song at her wedding, partly because she loves it, she loves me (and I love Paul Weller.) I was meant to dance to it with my long term ex (this had been planned with military precision by my mate for ages:rolleyes: ) but as he could be nowhere to be found, I ended up dancing with her brother in law instead. Therefore to me it signifies the first time I thought something was wrong and although I'd always loved the song, it still makes me feel uncomfortable and is probably one i bypass when i listen to Stanley Road.   I can understand why people cry to Aqualung songs. They are just gorgeous!
 Share this content via...

Jonny5   10 #233 Posted June 1, 2007 The Living Dead by Suede  Asleep by The Smiths  For No One by The Beatles  This is Yesterday by the Manics  Pretty much any 'ballad' by Tom Waits  Rocking in The Free World by Neil Young  Thats quite a few isn't it? And those are only the tip of the iceberg.
 Share this content via...
Smileyfem   10 #234 Posted June 4, 2007 The song that makes me sob (and i mean body wracking sobbing) is My Immortal by Evanescence  There is a long story behind it and the story actually has a happy ending, but this song reminds me of what i almost lost and i feel grateful that i have taken a leap of faith! leviathan13 Â Â 350 #235 Posted June 4, 2007 For me, almost anything by Queen. Freddie's voice was just immense in every single song they did and that's usually what gets me. Although, a few perfect notes from Brian's guitar wrenches a little too. Â Ride On by AC/DC too.
 Share this content via...

swordfish1   10 #237 Posted June 7, 2007 When my marriage broke up 8 years ago, this brought me to tears, not ashamed to say so.  The Cure - Trust Lyrics  there's no-one left in the world that i can hold onto there is really no-one left at all there is only you and if you leave me now you leave all that we were undone there is really no-one left you are the only one  and still the hardest part for you to put your trust in me i love you more than i can say why won't you just believe? Wok Boy   10 #239 Posted June 7, 2007 It's probably embarrassing to say so, but My Chemical Romance's "Famous Last Words" almost brings me to tears. It's just such a powerful song.  Plus "Shine Acoustic" by Muse. That's so nice!
 Share this content via...
