hello folks of sheffield.. i have good news and bad news ..... lucky strike(the arcade burnt down in skegness a few years ago) has reopened and is looking great.... the bad news is Absolutely insane(fantasy island ride been out of operation since 07 has now been removed due to the fact it had too much technical problems.. it has beewn sold for scrap at a value of 240 grand....no new attrations will be at fantasy island this year but a new ride is in operation at bottons but the wristbands are £1 extra .... thanks for actually reading this... does any moderaters wanna make me like a holiday guide of the site ?? haha

also in the last season the waterway boats was taken away.. due to the end of a licence but early this year "teen spirit"(owners of the tower arcade) have bought rights to one of these taxis so basically the waterways attraction is back

im afraid not as im only 16 i dont get a chance to travel around the pubs and clubs but if its the red lion you are talking about i found a bit of history of it This building was originally the Lion Hotel, built in 1881, with a large, red, stone lion on the roof. In 1904, the lion was placed at ground level and the pub soon became known as The Red Lion, and its location dubbed Lion's Corner.

 

The bright, bustling pub of today celebrates a history dating from 1881. This was when it first opened under the ownership of building-contractor-turned-landlord Samuel Clarke, from Nottinghamshire. A sandstone lion, carved by Richard Winn of Grimsby, was originally placed on top of the building over the corner entrance of this pub. The six-hundredweight lion, from which the pub got its name, was brought to pavement-level, for safety reasons, in 1904.

Ignore all the losers on here. I think it's great that you are so passionate about something that is important to you. The fact that you have researched the history of the Red Lion is fantastic. Good on you !
