tiffy   10 #13 Posted February 22, 2004 Do they have to get rid of our heritage?  Have you noticed when news is reported from another UK City how they show beautiful 'old' buildings in the background (news item permitting) ? If they left our buildings alone I'm sure more tourists would flock here and spend a bit more sight-seeing. Too many times I've read of some old hall being demolished after being left to succumb to disrepair which is obviously what the council wanted in the first place.  Wonder how much we'd have to fork out to buy the weighing machine back, if it's still around?
