Texas Hold Em Poker

stick ta freerolls liberty you have no idea what your talking about pal

I'm afraid I do. i have been gambling for 30 years and have seen dozens of ads like this - even fallen for a few as well. Go ahead and waste your money if you wish. If it turns out to be a poker strategy lesson opr something, then fair enough but to market it as a secret which will bring you instant success is misleading IMO.

In fact hasn't this whole thread been one big marketing campaign from the OP?

This reminds me of those old racing systems you got (and probably still do)which preyed on the gullible. If the system is so good, why do they need to sell it to others to make money. It's even got the oldest pricing trick in the book.

Avoid.

Hello Mr Keyboard worrior, thank you for your kind comments. I'm a publisher, that's how I put food on the table... if you pick up a magazine and see an advert such as a poker magazine and you see a ad or story, and they give you an option to purchase... then that's your choice and is respected.

It's just publishing I don't play poker because I'm useless, this will be in major poker sites and magazines worldwide, with in a month or so.

Along with one well known major british player who's won well over a million pound (not on this current site as, will be on another one), ask that to the same person and you would get laughed at... leaving you with a huge egg on your face...

Incidently If you have won over a million pound in poker, please let me know and I will certainly publish you as well.

PS, thats why you get a 30 day money back gaurentee, to allow you to make your own mind up, hence the test market.

I play in free tourneys. Love it.

By the way, you will lose money so just be careful how much you stake. as with all gambling, there are 2 types of people; people who are down overall, and people who are liars.

Any decent free rolls online?

Ive looked at a few but they all need money depositing first

You can play on free sites like pureplay which do have some cash prizes and you don't need an initial deposit.

I use betfair and pokerstars which both have freeroll bankroll starters. I have money in both account but you can play for fun money. You will need to give bank details even to play in freerolls because they need somewhere to deposit all your winnings.

I've actually stopped the free games now and am building up experience in tournaments. Mainly sit and go.

I think you do not need to pay for tuition! you need to know which hand beats what, once you have this you will have to decide which game you are going to study ie tournaments or cash tables, then you will need to decide if your going live at a casino or online they are very different experiences and finally you will need to invest your time and money! (especially if you are looking for a financial return). to learn the skill will cost you a around 3-5k ..... by playing in small games in your chosen area but not so small that your opponents are frivolous with there chips. for example online play i suggest you play £5.00 games @ a 10 table winning this table will bank you £25 if i recall, therefore your opponents are more likely to play properly! unlike the cheap players that mess with £1-2 tourneys to bank a fiver!! you learn nothing at this level. after a months or so at this level you will start to see good plays from bad plays and you will start to get reads on your opponents not forgetting confidence in your style of play . then move up to £10 table and you will see a massive diffrence in the player as the prize is £50 to the winner you will also see how far you have come as a player then go back to your £5 tables but now and again mix it up with £10 tables maybe twice a week i my self have been playing on and of for 6 years and i am playing £50 tables however if i have a bad time i drop down to £30 table it just makes me feel better i have played a few £ 100 quid games but thats to exciting for me ? i feel after 6 months you should be regular on £20 dropping down to £10 just so you feel better LOL whilst mixing it up with £30 tables 2-3 times week the higher the stake the more serious the game becomes and it is serious games you need in order to learn about the game if you can understand and accept that you will lose money to start with and also accept that £1000 per month is a fair amount for playing poker if this is not enough then may be start with £30-£50 tourney and may be look for a 3-4k return after your probation period and if you need more than this well i would say go for cash table and employ a real pro to guide you but if you are just a regular chap then you probably agree 1-2k amonth tax free aint to bad eh?

but yes people do increase there bankroll month in month out but it was not a cheap learning curve ...... and sur no bs

let me know how it goes

sorry if this reads mumble jumble

P.s. i am not a pro

if ur not a pro stay away from online poker

i used to play online alot on pokerstars, competing with my dad :P

He stated the rules as no deposits, if you wanted money win it in freerolls, which i did...built up the cash a bit then lady luck left me and it was jus donwhill from there .

My dad taught me jus the basics when i was about 14 and from there i learned quite alot :).

he still won't admit that i'm the better player :hihi:.

i go back and play now and then, but jus freeplay, cos pokerstars is a C**t for badbeats ;)

ur right there boy ur trying to beat a computer aswell

love the game and would advise anyone to try it, youll be very suprised on how good the game is. im being serious, absolutely fantastic game to get into. i love the social side to it, you have banter and a laugh round the table whilst your playing, you have to think about decisions and go through countless things in your head to make the right move.

id say im pretty good, biggest win online in one session maybe £600 maybe more,

the best players in the world are always learning, thats the good thing about poker, there isnt one set way on how to play, you can play any 2 cards however you want, try to confuse your opponents so anyone who says they couldnt improve are lying. if i had to say something for me to improve is not to get involved with suited cards in big pots preflop. im sure theres load smore i could say but i just got in from playing in a tournament in sheffield and im tired :)

playing live poker at casino etc is so much better than online, you cant beat being able to play with the chips and drag all those chips over to you when youve won a big pot. online can become very boring. the advantages of online poker are the fact that if you are out of the tourny, you can enter another one within a couple of minutes, and also its much faster play, because its all computer generated the cards are instantly shuffled and dealt very quickly, whereas in casino you have to wait for people to decided or the dealer to deal etc, much slower pace. but live poker is so much better than online in my opinion.

i play online on skypoker and fulltilt, both are good, skypoker is better if you want to get started and has a great community, has a forum etc, plus its a british poker site so everything is in £££. full tilt is a much larger site everything is dealt in $$$ but you get more range and alot bigger tournaments.

for added research look at

doyle brunson - arguably the biggest legend in poker

daniel negreanu

phil ivey

phil helmuth

gus hansen

just to name a few

hope this helps mate, you will not be disappointed if you decide to learn how to play, they do begginer tournies at napoleans casinos aswell, not sure what nights but just go on there website and should sort you out.

pkr poker ugh. its a rip off

Hi im doing a little research on texas hold em poker, was just wondering what peoples general thoughts were to the game, do you love it or hate it, do you play it, if so where? do you prefer online or at a casino and why>

If you love it... why?

Are you any good at it, whats your biggest win

Also, if you were a average player, if you could improve your game would you and how?

Just general info would be great!

thanks

just ask how many winners and how many losers

ask the losers what the deals are like, and try playing yourself.

if like me, just a learner for about 3 years on and offit near impossible to win

a few do about 1% the game is full of chancers

the only way to find out is to play

how did i know hurstyowl would be first to reply to this thread haha

anyways heres my 2 cents on the financial side of things from personal experience

Poker is a good game for the fun element of the sport (yes its getting more and more widely considered a sport). But for financial gain, it is less successful than your average paid job.

I have played for many years and made profit for a bit of extra cash on the sidelines but to make money from it to replace a job is risky and generally considered not profitable in the long run. Of course there are those who have made it , from all the famous people in poker and pros out there. But if you compare the numbers to how many actually play poker live or online then your talking about a very very small minority who can make do this. Alot of young people watch TV and think they can become the next big shot poker player and they do not actually realize a lot of the famous people some mentioned above make money from gambling in many, many games not JUST poker and also make or made money before they even touched the poker tables. Hence many of the people you see on TV have other jobs and do other business outside the gambling world and are playing with money they can afford to lose (even the highest stakes).

I knew someone who has tried to make it as full time job, and he averaged out at making about 12 to 16 grand a year in the couple year he did it. Over that time he had huge swings in his cash flow, spent 8+ hours a day playing, and at times suffered from stress when things were going pair shaped.

So in a nutshell from my experience , play poker its a great game for the fun and a extra bit of spending money if you win. But be careful if you find yourself not enjoying it and your goal becomes only to make money as thats when things can get dangerous.

live poker and online poker are two different things,

live poker you know is not manipulated ,

online poker is difficult to explain ,after playing on and off for about 3 years

you can predict what will happen in certain situations.

like short stacks going all in against chip leaders no chance of winning

donkey callers going all in with hands like 28 72 37 up against high pairs

and the same player doing it and winning 3 times on the trot regular occurence,as they say getting rag cards for hole cards 99% of the time

if you call then u have to dodge the donkeys if u can.

i like playing poker, but online u have got to beat computer thats dishing out the cards and it favours chip leaders. u want to play, play live ,don,t w3aste ur money

I use Pureplay (low standard generally...great for beginners to have a taste of winning) but now mostly Betfair.net which has a very wide range of abilities and load of playing options from sit and go to huge tourneys.

I'm improving all the time but recognize when I've been outplayed.

how do u know u have been out played when a donkey goes all in with 29

and u call with aces and the deal will give it to the donkey, the donk player can do that 3 times ont trot and win every hand, it happens quite regularyits a bit funny when short stacks go all in with the better hands it always gives it to the higher chip stack, real queer. play freeroll and watch.
