Hasn't the BT building just had/having a facelift? I think it looks much better now.

It is still a rather uninspiring building though, but yes I do believe they worked on it.

The can has gone further down the road. There's a lot of info in the above but the scheme is far more appealing than 7stone.

To be completed by 2019. Not sure but that's probably on the Iranian calendar.

There's always a Gulf between promised Sheffield developments and what actually happens.

Well looks like the Grosvenor House Hotel is finally coming down:

"A hotel considered in its heyday as one of Sheffield’s most luxurious places to stay is finally set to be knocked down - more than five years after the last guests checked out."

Demolition starts December.

This really surprised me:

At one time it was the city’s only four-star hotel, and hosted celebrities and royalty, including the Prince and Princess of Wales, Charles and Diana, in plush surroundings boasting 102 bedrooms, a ballroom, restaurant, bar and function room.

I remember it in the early 70s, it really was a class establishment, like the Hallam Towers.

Delays over announcing new developer for Retail Quarter. Comrade Dore and Boy Blunder Bramall flapping around trying to put a positive spin on the delays.

Sound familiar ? :hihi::hihi:

And simultaneously pound shops and Aldi's are springing up everywhere.

Its all part of the socialist de-bourgeoisification of Sheffield.

I know de-bourgeoisification isn't a word but it should be.

It's easy to criticise, but how would you finance the redevelopment which has probably been the big issue which has held up the development from day one?
