Anyone got a recomendation for a roofer we need a few tiles replacing and some pointing doing to the chimny. Cheers van

Our house suffered some damage following a burst water pipe in the loft. The work is being rectified under the insurance. The damage is as follows:

 

Loft boards and insulation needs replacing.

Ceiling needs pulling down and re-plastering.

Decorating work - painting and papering.

 

Also need a new laminate floor in one room - but we're taking that as a cash settlement.

 

 

In the room that needs the new ceiling, we also require the walls re-plastering. These were going to be redecorated as part of the insurance but we want to re-plaster instead. Realise that we'll have to pay for this.

 

The insurers did send around their contractors originally but we just didn't like their attitude so we are going down finding our own contractor route.

 

So, basically we need a contractor that will take over but allow us to have our say. They need to know how to work with insurance companies.

Mark Nield at Top Tile Roofing just did a very similar job for us last weekend for an excellent price. I know he's currently on holiday though.

Just had a complete new bathroom put in due to health, and it was fitted by Darren & Kyle (B'Dazzled bathrooms) 07796 260500. They have done an amazing job as it involved totally remodelling bathroom, installing new pipes hiding old ones.

Another recommendation for Jeff the Joiner (Jeff Smith Joiner 07861379796 or 01142203563). Not only did he replace and hang two doors, he removed and put in a custom made banister, which looks fantastic, all in one day. To add to that, I mentioned some of my double glazing units were misted so he used his contacts and sorted those too the very next morning.

 

Top job. Very good work, on time and even slightly under original quote. I would, without a doubt, highly recommend Jeff for anyone wanting any sort of high quality joinery work doing.

 

Only problem is, my missus is that impressed with Jeff's work she's looking at what she wants doing next.
