DaleBuilding   10 #1573 Posted August 13, 2013 Just had some work done by DaleBuilding and can definitely recommend them. Had an outhouse demolished, and a flimsy wooden fence and gate replaced with a brick wall and a new wooden gate. The guys have done a really good job, it's the little extras like how they finished the edges off etc that I think shows the quality.  Have already booked for them to do some more work for us!  Thanks Jill, it's much appreciated
 Share this content via...
whitecliffes   10 #1574 Posted August 14, 2013 I would like to recommend Whitecliffes Builders. I recently had a problem with rising damp and Whitecliffes came in and sorted the problem in two rooms. This is after the previous builder had skimmed over and ignored totally. I cannot commend Eric Cliffe and his work men highly enough and will be using to get some more work done to my roof and cellar.  Thank you for the recommendation bendus2. It is greatly appreciated. We look forward to working with you again in the future. Whitecliffes.
 Share this content via...
shamal12   10 #1575 Posted August 14, 2013 I’d like to add another recommendation for Chris McVann from Mac Plastering. I’d contacted him a while ago to quote on installing internal insulation and skimming some artex covered walls. He came round, looked at the job and advised me on the best products available to provide the most effective performance. Even came back a while later to show me samples of the boards that he was proposing, and gave a very detailed and competitive quote. Last week he came to do the work, and I am so delighted with what he has done. He turned up each day at exactly the time he said he would, and was committed to doing the very best job – so much so that he even sourced some very specialist fixings to attach the boards to the wall. The finish is absolutely wonderful and I’m looking forward to painting the walls and seeing the final finish. (and he gave me some good tips on how best to do that) It’s also brilliant to finally be artex free! Chris is a really nice guy and we had some very interesting conversations, in between plastering stages. He was also prepared to sort out the problems caused by an inefficient supplier that almost derailed the job – and kept it perfectly on time. Without a doubt he will be back to do more work for me in the future.
 Share this content via...
Buggz   10 #1576 Posted August 14, 2013 Just wanted to say a HUGH thank you to Andrew Hall. 07747026254 I'm a bit of a fussy customer...But nothing is too much trouble for Andrew. He took out all our kitchen and re juggled the whole thing putting in a brand new kitchen with oak worktops, it looks absolutely amazing. Better than I could ever have imagined. Andrew also did our bedroom putting in floor to ceiling wardrobe doors in the alcoves measuring them perfectly so they were both the same size as one alcove was bigger than the other, again a perfect job. He is a perfectionist. I would recommend Andrew to anyone wanting any type of joinery or building work doing. He's a pleasure to have in your home or workplace. Reliable, friendly, clean and tidy. Again, Thanks Andrew We wouldn't have anyone else. Sue Norton Lees  Well said Sue! I couldn't agree more with you. We had Andy fit us a kitchen in July and and he did a fantastic job! I can't recommend him enough! Not only is his workmanship first class but he's he's also very friendly and accommodating. Don't hesitate, give him a call!   http://www.andrewhalljoinery.co.uk/index.html
 Share this content via...
Sue D Â Â 10 #1577 Posted August 14, 2013 I would like to recommend Andy Rowland of Rowland Property Services, who, with his assistant Graham fitted a new bath and shower complete with tiles. WalkleyAndy   10 #1580 Posted August 19, 2013 I have a reasonably big building job involving rotten floor joists that needs doing and need quotes from reliable, insured builders, but don't know any other homeowners to get recommendations from. Anyone got a genuine recommendation for a firm they've used? The recommended tradesmen thread in Property & Housing is either explicit or thinly veiled adverts, so if it seems like I'm posting in the wrong place, that's my reason! Thanks
 Share this content via...
