I had Yorkshire Windows in last week to fit new windows.

Just had to say they done an excellent job and you would hardly know that workmen had been in the house.

I'm always quick to complain about workmen etc but I also will give praise when it is due......great job to the company from start to finish.

Would like to sing the praises of Whitecliffes Builders. They recently converted our cellar/basement into a brand new living space and removed a chimney breast in our kitchen expanding the space available to us.

Throughout the whole project, Eric the boss kept us fully informed of the progress and ensured we were happy at every step of the way. Dale and Martin, who carried out the majority of the work, were a pleasure to be around, arriving promptly every morning and always tidying up at the end of their working day.

Price was very competitive and we both couldn't be happier with the result - can't recommend them enough if anyone is thinking of having building work.

Another thank you for Jon Bradley, jbradleybz on here. He came Friday and removed an old gas fire and capped off the pipe. He arrived on time and his charges were more than reasonable. I can see why he is always so busy! Thanks Jon and see you later in the year for a boiler service.

Another vote for Avante from me - fantastic service all round. Reliable, professional and trustworthy. We used them to move from a 3 bed house in Dore to a 3 bed in Dronfield at the start of May. Outstanding service!

Hey Boris,

 

£600 for a local move like that seems very steep.

An avarage 3 bed going localy usually takes between 6 and 8hrs (depending on the amount of stuff and any access problems)

The average price for a mid range (not the cheapo boys or the national firms) is £45 -£60 per hour for a large lorry and 2 porters (inc vat and insurance which is very important)

I would ring a few companies and and speak to them they wont bite ( well we dont lol) and go on your instinct when talking to them on the phone (and reviews on here obviously)
