Firstly, Dan / Tyriana, you came up to the bar holding what looked like porn mags, with half naked men on the front, which I wouldn't want to see on the bar in any venue I visit, let alone my own! I told you that we didn't want that type of stuff on the bar. You were waving it around while I was having a pleasant conversation with some middle aged paying customers, all of which were looking at you as I was, so I asked you to go. You never buy anything in Lions anyway!

Pete, I am gay, Paul is gay, Jono is gay, Mark is gay. Charlie is straight, Ashley is straight. They are all the staff. So 4 gay staff to 2 straight staff. How do the facts speak to you?!

 

For the record, we are still as gay friendly as ever, and welcome the shout magazine.

 

James, the new part owner, Charlie, is straight. I am not. We own it 50/50 so there! Chris was let go with immediate effect after his 4th warning regarding issues with him and his job role / performance. I won't go into detail here, but after what happened and his terms of employment, he wasn't due any notice. I know you were still in touch with him on a personal level and can appreciate you don't know both sides of the story, things aren't always so black and white.

Doesn't surpise me that Dan never bought anything, just wish his mouth was as tight as his purse. Mind you if there had been free food at the bar no-one else would have got a look-in

Ha! How much exactly do you think it takes then?! Because anything less than £4k/week and it wouldn't even be open! We were taking that some weekends 2 1/2 years ago when James was involved, and we're taking more now!

 

Almost £600 quid a day is good going, glad to hear it has worked out better than the building trade did

The same could be said for Dempseys, everytime I go there its the same old faces, and young faces, and the same can be said of Affinity when I have been there, each gay venue seems to attract the same faces, I am not sure why you seem to pick in Lions Lair only. :loopy:

 

Yeh I suppose, but there are possibly a lot less new faces in such a downgraded bar. If you're in a group of people you know exactly who is going to come up with the idea of going to LL.

I don't understand why you are trying to make out that you are some sort of great business man.

 

The hours don't work out and you are defintely not open enough or big enough to get £4,000/week.

 

As you saw you are open 6-12 on weekdays, and there is no trade to be scene ANYWHERE on the gay scene on those times and at the weekend you have about 40 people in max, because LL is small. For those who haven't been to LL it is no bigger than 2 medium sized bedrooms.

 

I wish I could say more about your apparent 4k a week comments, but I would get into a bit more trouble than I need to be in.

 

Also I wonder how much profit you make a week? Is it going to be another pie in the sky number? :hihi:
