billysmum   10 #42 Posted January 24, 2010 It was only 8 and a half miles today but my legs are telling me it was more like 18 What a lovely place to sit and have our dinner, on top of the crags looking out towards the broomhead reservoir. Not too sure about the rock climbing though!
 Share this content via...
scoobz   10 #43 Posted January 24, 2010 (edited) Apologies for a couple of wrong turns today guys, it was a different route to the usual one, and I think a small hangover affected my guiding ability too . Just goes to show that although you think you know a place, you shouldn't get complacent. Cheers to everyone for not making a fuss about it though, just shows what a great gang we have these days. As BM has said, great views as usual from on the tops, and not as much mud as there might have been, although HC3 and Purplebeetle had some of us in stitches with their mud sliding antics Lovely to see Purplebeetle back with us after a long absence, and nice to have newbies Megalithic and VWkittie with us for the first time too. Hope you both enjoyed today, and that we'll see you again soon. Today's mob were Purplebeetle, Hippiechick3, Bambigirl, Eclaire, Anne D, Mr Pedantic, Billysmum, Scoobz, Sana, Bruno, Mrs DJ, Devon Wench, Mr Wench, Megalithic, VWkittie, Thomps1, Vincentvega, Nooka, Judybongo, Village Owl, Gudigobla. Now to make sure that Clem is definitely going to join us next week before I post the walk Edited January 24, 2010 by scoobz Names missed off
 Share this content via...
megalithic   10 #44 Posted January 24, 2010 Certainly did enjoy it Scoobz, despite hardly any sleep last night. Some good scenery round there despite it almost being in the city, certainly different from my usual treks in the peaks. I dunno about the next walk but i'll certainly be tagging along again at some point, i need to anyway to reclaim my gloves. ! My gps says we covered just under 10 miles with the slight diversions which didn't bother me, i only found my second wind during the last mile or so power walking with eclair. Thanks for having me. Nooka   10 #45 Posted January 24, 2010 Enjoyed the walk today, glad there was none of that horrible ice this week!  It did seem like a long walk today but after a nice soak in the bath my legs dont feel too bad. That may not be the case in the morning though!  Nice to see yet more new people today hope you will join us again.
 Share this content via...
Village Owl   10 #46 Posted January 24, 2010 Smashing walk today, really enjoyable. Nice to welcome back a few friends we haven't seen for a while and to welcome a couple of newbies. Loved the views from the top of the crags. Thanks to Sana and HC3 for the company in the car.
 Share this content via...
Hippiechick3 Â Â 10 #47 Posted January 24, 2010 well made my first walk of the year and properly christened my boots. Thanks for the helpful laughter Scoobz. Really enjoyed this route even with the odd detour. Didn't feel like 10 miles to me whihc is pleasing as excercise is seemingly absent from my life right now. Nice to see eclair sliding back down the crags and more than a bit of dog dodging going on - for us and the poor cyclist trying to perform an emergency stop on that downhill stretch. No injuries though thank goodness.
 Share this content via...
vwkittie   10 #48 Posted January 24, 2010 Good walk today - was great seeing where I live and travel through every day from a totally new perspective i.e. waaaay above! I think it felt like 10 miles, have been fighting to stay awake this evening!  Trying to work out who's who on the forum now
 Share this content via...
