I think the OP should phone some taxi firms and let us know what kind of quotes they get!

We are thinking of going to Cromer from Wadsley Bridge and would want a booked return to back to Sheffield. Anyone any idea of a taxi prices?
Call Sheffield taxi companies and ask them, they "hould" be able to price it easier than we can ;)

The train journey to Cromer with just one change at Norwich is around 5 hours

National Express only offer one coach per day from Sheffield to East Anglia area and takes ages.

If cost is a factor and travel is not here is one option I did a few years ago.

Get a cheap rail ticket to Peterborough then get a day bus rover which allows travel on the limited stop coach to Nowich via Kings Lynn where a change onto Coastliner service to Cromer is available. Journey Planner is available or look at First East Anglia and Norfolk Green for bus details.

It is about 300 return. So if 4 people, then it's cheaper than the train. And door to door. :)

£76 return on the train, maybe cheaper with an advance booking.

£300 is cheap 7 seater aswell so if 7 go then less than 50 quid each which is cheaper than 76 quid each, and even with 4 people its still cheaper, 3 or less people then go on the train. but in advance booking i went to norwich return and it cost me about 46 quid but you want to go further so im not sure.

An additional point; if the group includes children, it will probably work out still cheaper to buy a family railcard and get the ensuing discounts on the train fares. I'm not sure what they cost nowadays, but that wants looking at; the last time I took a group of people as far as Norfolk, the railcard paid for itself and then some from just that one trip.

The train is almost certainly the more economical option, if you can buy tickets in advance and pick the cheapest time to travel - and, of course, assuming there is no great aversion to train travel, as in the case of my wife. We go nowhere by train. :hihi:
