No! Not after my last experience at a certain practice that is always taking new NHS patients on the Abbeydale/London Road junction. It was the dental equivalent of A&E on a Saturday night.

Free check-ups, free doctors prescriptions, ah the good old days, lets go the whole hog and give the kids a little bottle of milk at school as well, then again its free laptops they want these days isn’t it.

Giving children bottles of milk makes perfect sense, giving it to all people does to be honest.

Good for teeth, good for bones, good for farmers etc.

 

Let us not forget the horrible waste of milk which took place in Belgium less than a year ago.

 

We all need milk, it would make more sense to be in control of our own supply funded via our taxes at xp/L , rather than have farmers going bust, producing milk at 27p a litre and being paid only 10p per litre on farms with modern infrastructure.

 

The farmer is making a loss, the demand for the milk is there, common sense dictates the demand and people are paying a whole host of different prices for the same commodity, the commodity production then suffers as corporate entities exploit it for all they can.

It would depend on whether that was the most appropriate/cheapest treatment, and whether or not they paid for it, or paid for it privately. The proportion of Sheffield workers to 'social security' claimants receiving dental care would be an interesting statistic.
