Recommended Posts

I currently use a bt voyger modem but I'm getting tired of all the wires running eveywhere,I was wondering if I bought a wireless router eg. Belkin, would this replace my current modem? Any advice welcome I don't really have a clue how these things work

If you are on cable you would probably have to connect the router to the modem but if your broadband comes down the normal telephone line (You mention BT Internet so I presume they are you BB provider) you should be OK, the router will plug into an ADSL filter which in turn will plug into your telephone line.

if you get an adsl wireless router, it'll have an adsl modem built in, so it can replace your bt voyager.

Be aware you can buy a wireless router without a modem built in.

If you're on BTinternet (now BTYahoo) then i'd try contacting them and seeing if they'll send you a HomeHub.

they wont without renewing the contract just buy a mk3 homehub theres been loads on sf classifieds and you dont want to be paying any more than £20 tops with the phone part as well
