Best Indian restaurant / curry house in Sheffield - Megathread

Recommended Posts

It really depends on what you're looking for, and its not strictly Sheffield as im aware, but really 'Akbar's is the best place you're going to find in this vicinity. Try the fried liver, and definitely get the family naan. Superb

No it isnt, the food is average and your rushed through the place like cattle (once you get a table that is).

Akbars is really good - make sure you sit downstairs though, the ambience is better! Aagrah is good too and better located if you're going for drinks afterwards.

I have been to many many Indian restaurants throughout the country and cannot for the life of me work out why the totally average Akbars gets mentioned so many times on this thread.

Alma's in Dore or (my absolute fave) Dhanistha's on Abbeydale Rd.

Not a fan of Aagrah or of Akbars.

Look up curry recipes on the net and cook you're own they taste better and you know what you're eating. if any bodily fluids get in there then at least its you're own
