Acer netbook lost internet

my acer netbook had a virus over xmas, the virus was removed but unfortunatly the internet was lost too..tried virtually everything,all other pcs and laptops inthe home working fine, any ideas welcome.:help::help:

What model of D-Link router is it?

yes that number took me to a website,the router does`nt have a access control.and the net work isnt protected.

If entereing that address takes you to a D-link page then the wireless on the laptop is working. If all the other computers in the house use the same router and work OK then it's not the internet.

 

Try loading internet explorer and go to tools, internet options and default everything you can find in there to default settings.

 

If that does not work and the machine is new then just restore it to factory settings from the CD, if not uninstall and re-install internet explorer. Or download an alternative on one of your other computers, put it on a memory stick and install it.
