Not sure about the renault garage.

However I believe the top end of eccy road/psalter lane, Gilders, has been sold and a M & S may be getting built there.

Maybe thats the garage your thinking about?

I haven't heard anything for a while though so the plans may have been scrapped.

I claim my prize and 100% gurantee that it hasn't been sold to M&S. They are renting. :)

They couldn't get the plans passed for the Gilders site so M&S decided on the Renault garage at the bottom of Ecclesall Road. I'm sure it's been in the Sheffield Telegraph.

M&S have been looking for a few years now and have looked at every potential site on Ecclesall Road. Gilders was only one of them.

It's a significant investment and quite a large scheme for an M&S food led store but the Renault site is the best that they could have found and will no doubt do well from the profile of Ecclesall Road that fits with M&S's image so well.
