Tyranna   10 #13 Posted December 14, 2009 stuff even more newer than that is often given away on freecycle, i got rid of loads of stuff on there  ACCESS SPACE, at No. 2, Sidney Street, opposite the Rutland Arms Pub, will take computers like that off your hands for free, PLUS (And this is where the good bit comes) you can learn to build your own PC from the numerous other out of date parts that are donated to them; in effect you would be able to swop your old clapped out machine for a still secondhand one, but one with very much enhanced/updated specs, complete with a substantial package of software installed. The only catch is that you must learn how to assembe it yourself and how to use the software provided, which is LINUX, not Windows-based, although having said that, a lot of Windows files and programs can be run on a Linux machine... Attestant   10 #16 Posted December 17, 2009 There used to be a company based in what used to be high green school who recycled/refurbished old PC's. Not sure if they are still there or would be interested in your PC.  They certainly are still there. Google "CoSY Computers" (was short for "Computers for South Yorkshire"). It's a not-for-profit social enterprise. Some good deals on price, excellent support & free training for unemployed.
 Share this content via...
