What you need to appreciate is that you didn't make it clear in your initial post that the incident involving your vehicle didn't take place here in the city, or that your statement regarding gritting policies was referring to the nation and not the city. You therefore shouldn't be surprised when Forummers make statements defending Sheffield's gritters and Sheffield City Council.

The rain overnight has washed away all but the deepest of the snow here on Stradbroke. I can honestly say I'm chuffed to bits seeing the ice go!

According to the Travel South Yorkshire website it is open, but olnly passable with extreme care.
