SWFC Manager Predictions

. Just a thought:-

Will they be looking for a “Warnock” type character to do a quick fix or a younger bloke to rebuild the team even if that means relegation?

Mr Strafford may be looking at the latter of the two.

I just heard on talksport radio, that a lad who plays football with Paul Jewell's son says Jewell is on the way to see Lee Strafford today!

If investment is looking likely in January (only the club will know this), then we might as well keep with McAuley until then. That will then give us better options.

I don't want McAuley to get the job, because if he doesn't do so well, we've lost a great academy manager.

And if he does do well ....................... VERY well?

Who's to say he will? He won 4 games whilst he was in charge, which set up Laws for that first season in charge, but clubs always seem to pick up once the manager is sacked. I'd keep McAuley as academy manager and bring in a more high profile manager...depending on our buget re: investment.

Bryan Robson was a 'high profile manager'.... Mark Robins wasn't.

I hope that's Stratford on Avon, he's on his way to.

Very fair point........Bryan Robson has never been a good manager though, it took him millions to get Middlesborough promoted.

Sean McAuley has been appointed. He stood in when Sturrock left in autumn

2006 to such effect that the Owls actually won games. Good choice financially.

Well strike me!

Turned the computer off, getting ready for the pub and got a text from my insider at the club.

Wednesday not advertising the job with any gusto, McAuley's has been given the job for 'an indefinite period'.

My insider is usually 100%.
