JenC Â Â 10 #28 Posted December 14, 2009 I've always loved the intro to Cygnet Committe by Bowie - the bass is great. Also by Bowie, that dramatic and beautiful piano at the beginning of Lady Grinning Soul (and throughout actually - what a sultry song). Â Sabbath's Black Sabbath. Â I Feel Fine, The Inner Light and Sun King (love the under water sounding guitar) by The Beatles. Â There are tonnes more but those were the first ones that came to mind. horribleblob   212 #30 Posted December 14, 2009 Stay With Me - The Faces  To quote Churchill... "Oh yes!"  I'd also propose these contenders: "Water down the drain" - Jeff Beck Group, and "Thunderbuck ram" - Mott the Hoople
 Share this content via...
HeadingNorth   11 #31 Posted December 14, 2009 In the Flesh - Pink Floyd. But only the first time you play it.   "I can barely hear it, turn it up. No, turn it up higher, that's really, really faint. It's just a quiet little whistling tune..."  BOOM  I nearly blew out my apartment window the first time I played that record. leviathan13   348 #32 Posted December 14, 2009 Just a few off the top of my head by a few artists:  AC/DC: Thunderstruck Highway To Hell Whole Lotta Rosie Back In Black   Metallica: Battery Blackened One Holier Than Thou  Led Zep: Rock N Roll Battle Of Evermore What Is And What Should Never Be Immigrant Song   To name but a few for now. I like the balance between high impact, all out aggression of some and the brooding slow-build of others.
 Share this content via...
Bloomdido   10 #33 Posted December 14, 2009 Led Zep: Rock N Roll Battle Of Evermore What Is And What Should Never Be Immigrant Song  Mmmm. Took me a long, long time to nail the intro to Rock and Roll. I actually prefer the outros to Zep songs. What Is And What Should Never Be, where the guitar bounces across to each speaker, Galows Pole where Plant starts singing allsorts of nursery rhyme rubbish and Whole Lotta Love where they start shifting the emphasis in the riff.  I like the intro to Good times Bad Times and the drum intro on When the Levee Breaks is just perfect.
