Sam Salt, captain of HMS Sheffield during the Falklands war has died aged 69 years old.

He always came across as very dignified man in all the interviews I've seen with him.

O Trinity of love and power

Our brethren shield in danger's hour

From rock and tempest, fire and foe

Protect them wheresoe'er they go.

Thus evermore shall rise to Thee

Glad hymns of praise from land and sea.

Very sad news. Condolences to his family and friends on the loss of such a distinguished man. He had the total loyalty and confidence of those who served under his command and that was the mark of the man. RIP

Sam Salt? What a brilliant name for a ship's captain.

nearly as good as Brigadier Attack.

God bless . a man serving his country deserves respect as long as his country is right in what it asks of him.

RIP.
