Depends where you live really, in Hillsborough there is the Pearson Bros. Butchers on Middlewood Road and Crawshaws are highly recommended in the arcade at the Barracks.

Two on ecclesall road up near banner cross. One sells only sustainable produce, more expensive but unbelievably tasty

I'd second Crawshaws - brilliant! At Hillsbro' barracks or in stocksbridge.

i've been using talbots in hillsborough,. no complaints - and have butchered things to my request as well (sawn me up a rib of beef to my desired size, jointed a rabbit, rolled a leg of pork etc..), rather than just vend meat in a tray.

 

and f funk for sausages - especially their pork and chive - lovely.

Ryals butchers on abbey lane are amazing,He smokes all his bacon and it tastes divine,also makes his own sausages

very old fashioned butcher but his meat is top quality and cerainly not pumped full of additives and water,

He also does his own cooked ham
