Shamblers Walk - Wharncliffe Side 22nd November

I've wandered on my own in a Tiger reserve and photographed Grizzly Bears in Canada so a few cows hold no fears for me

 

It was the closest I've ever been to being mugged by a gang of bovines though.

 

Lovely scenery throughout the walk and great views of Broomhead reservoir especially. My feet were soaked at the finish but a great walk nonetheless.

 

Got some nice photos of interesting fungi, despite the attentions of the pup!

What an action packed day, various people having to drop out on route for various reasons, rampaging chasing cows and then the frisky horses.

 

Loved the walk and the terrific scenery all the way round including fantastic views of all the resevoirs, and I even threw in some entertainment for free, falling over or was that doing a dive:lol:

Hi all, what happened to Mrs dj, I can recall a little promise made to me last Thursday night about the walk to-day. Oh, no snow here but plenty of water but snow as been mentioned in the weather forecast for Friday.

I enjoyed the walk. I have also learnt a lesson and have been reading up about cows charging etc, and why they do it and what to do for future referance, one thing i am glad i didnt turn around to see why people were shouting run claire because i think i would have fell in the mud that at the gate opening was ankle deep mud and not easy to run. No damage done just a bit of a pull/ cramp and bit of shook up i think.

What a great action packed walk that was, some great laughs and scary moments too.Think i must have lost my barrings or marbles what was the big city in the distance called again (lol) oh yes Sheffield. Thanks to Bruno for my lift,hope Eclair is over her shock,and great photos Taxman

Captured the day really well there Taxman. Couldn't help smiling at the dwindling numbers of people as you go along. Almost a case of 'last man standing' at the end.
