CorkerSWFC Â Â 10 #1 Posted November 14, 2009 It look's like Akpo's going out on loan to get a few game's under his belt. Maybe we will see him this afternoon according to the star. it might even be Sodje and Burton up front aswell, which would be interesting to watch. Law's has also said that Sodje going out on loan paves the way for us to hit the loan market also.
 Share this content via...

CorkerSWFC Â Â 10 #3 Posted November 14, 2009 28 day's it say's m8 here's the story..... Â Â CHARLTON Athletic are the club who look set to borrow Akpo Sodje - and it could open the way for the Owls to bring in a loan signing of their own. The Sodje loan deal is likely to be completed either this morning - making him eligible for Charlton's home League One game against MK Dons this afternoon - or next week. Â Owls manager Brian Laws said: "If Akpo goes out for 28 days he will get in four or five games, which we can't give him at the moment, and it can only be a win-win situation for us before he rejoins us with his match fitness improved. Â "We'll have to subsidise the wages; it doesn't give me a great deal of scope to bring anybody in, with the wage budget I have left, but we are looking do something before we play Ipswich next Saturday." Â Laws is keeping potential targets under wraps and will not say which position he wants to strenghen. At Charlton, Sodje would be teaming up with his brother, Sam, a former centre-half target of Laws, and ex-Wednesday striker Deon Burton. Earwiggo   10 #4 Posted November 14, 2009 Cheers Corker! What's Laws gonna bring in ..... we're not short of strikers (though one who could score at least every other game would be a bonus) we're ok for centre halves, we've got 86 midfield players, Granty's sound, ..... it must be cover for Tommy at left back? Â What about getting about 3 or 4 michael Chopras lol. Yeah Tommys been a bit dodgy for some time now, i don't know who's available or what m8, but i agree about a left back maybe even a centre half who can play left back just to put a bit of pressure on Tommy. Earwiggo   10 #6 Posted November 14, 2009 Buxton's becoming a jack of all trades all of a sudden? He might yet get a spell up front, same as Paul Warhurst who got 86 goals in 100 games up front, as an emergency striker under Francis! He'll fill in at left back if he's needed. Has Laws not noticed that our present strikeforce aren't scoring that often?
 Share this content via...
CorkerSWFC Â Â 10 #7 Posted November 14, 2009 Addicks sign Sodje number two Charlton have snapped up Akpo Sodje, brother of Addicks defender Sam, on loan from Sheffield Wednesday. Â The deal for the 28-year-old striker was completed on Saturday morning, and the forward is eligible to play against Milton Keynes Dons. Â The youngest of the 10-strong Sodje clan, he was born in Greenwich. Â And manager Phil Parkinson stressed the deal was with a view to a permanent move. Â "Akpo's contract is up in the summer, so it's a chance for us to look at him and him to look at us," said the Valley boss. Â "He gives us a physical presence up front, and as everyone knows, given the recent injuries, we're short in that department, so Akpo can help us through the next important period." Â In addition to the recent three-game suspension for Izale McLeod, Deon Burton has been playing with a hernia injury and Leon McKenzie is gradually returning to full fitness. Â Added Parkinson: "He's from the local area, and obviously Sam is here already, so he was very keen to come and we're looking forward to working with him." Â After starting his career with Queens Park Rangers, Sodje also represented Huddersfield Town, Darlington and Port Vale before signing for Championship side Wednesday. Â He has made 41 appearances for the Owls, scoring nine times. Â Sodje has signed on an emergency loan for 28 days, and will stay at The Valley until at least the Southend United match on December 5th. Â Â -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Â Law's didnt mention anything about a view to a permanent deal in his interview.
