AaronD   10 #1 Posted July 6, 2005 Hi, I applied to rent a property through reeds rains over 3 weeks ago and it's basically come down to my current landlord stalling on giving me a reference.  Reeds Rains say they have tried calling her and have left messages etc yet my landlord say's she's not heard anything from them. I've double and triple checked that Reeds Rains are using the same contact details as me and they are.  Now i don't want to accuse one of them of lying but I would like to know what my options are as i am very desperate to move in.  A friend of mine has suggested that i offer to pay 6 months rent in advance to ignore the reference check but i think that's a bit extreme and costly.  Has anyone had any experience like this before with possibly a landlord that won’t cooperate?  I can't think of any reason why she would stall on purpose as we were good tenants as far as i'm concerned.  Aaron Share this post Link to post Share on other sites Share this content via...
