scoobz   10 #1 Posted November 1, 2009 Sheffield Forum Shamblers   Walk: Bakewell/Youlgreave  Date: Sunday 8th November 2009  Start time: 10.30 prompt  Meeting point: Car Park opposite The Peacock, Bridge Street, Bakewell DE45 1DS  Approx distance: 9-10 miles Approx duration: 5hrs 30mins  Route: Bakewell - Over Haddon - Lathkilldale - Youlgreave - Bradford Dale - Bakewell  Terrain: Field paths/tracks/short sections of road. 2 or 3 steep, short ascents. Will be muddy in places.  Parking: Lots of pay-and-display car parking in centre of Bakewell.  Refreshments: Cafes and pubs in Bakewell. Pubs at Lathkilldale and Youlgreave  Toilets: As above, and public toilets also at Over Haddon.  Public transport: TM Travel bus no 218 leaves platform B6 at 9.30 arriving at Bakewell at 10.15. Return bus departs at 17.30.  Additional information: Walk route can be shortened by @ a mile should there be adverse weather conditions.   IMPORTANT: Anyone joining the walk should be of a level of fitness relative to the walk being undertaken, be appropriately dressed, have suitable footwear, and have with them enough food and drink for the duration of the walk.  * * * * * *  If you are intending to join us on this walk, would you please post on this thread, so we know who to expect.
