Dan_Ashcroft   10 #11 Posted October 19, 2009 (edited) Still time to plant your sprouts and have them grow in time for Christmas!  IMO if Christmas starts when it's supposed to, i.e. the last day of Advert(Xmas eve), it might be a whole lot less tedious. It's just horrible commercialisation now.  BTW, Christmas pre-dates Christianity by a long time (six centuries to be precise). The festival was originally known as Saturnalia - the festival of Saturn. The virgin birth/nativity story etc is of course also stolen from the mythology of Mithra (an ancient Iranian pagen god).
