cloudybay   17 #169 Posted November 5, 2009  Call it what you will, but to most reasonable people your "country sport" is nothing more than an excuse to indulge your blood-lust.  Most 'reasonable people' couldn't give a flying fig about fox hunting as they have more important things to focus their minds on.  As for your blood-lust charge, let's get one thing straight: Humans are nothing more than socialised savages. We are genetically hard-wired to kill, rather like the fox. By denying this simple biological fact, all you are doing is giving succour to those whom believe in nurture over nature. It is only our laws and social conditioning that prevent the majority of us reverting to type. Recent events in Rwanda, Congo and Dafur are proof, if proof were needed, that reverting to type happens to often. As for fox hunting, hunt and be damned. The alternatives are poisoning, trapping, shooting and gassing. If I were fox, I'd be more than happy to take my chances against a pack of hounds. I remember this one doing the rounds when FH was legal and was in the process of being criminalised. Â Opposition on the grounds that there 'were more important things to worry about'. Mainly from the pro hunting lobby. Â Well surely the same is valid now, probably more so. We're at war, in a recession so why the hell should the government waste time on debating overturning the ban? What's good for the goose and all that... You speak of my giving succour to those who believe in nurture over nature, yet you then go on to state that the majority are prevented from reverting to type by social conditioning. Surely you can see that you have proved that which you set out to disprove?
 Share this content via...
RobbyBrown   10 #172 Posted November 5, 2009 With regards Fox Hunting.  How I see it, if the foxes refused to take part then there would be no Fox Hunting.  If I didn't want to play football, then I wouldn't go onto a Football Pitch and take part, can the Foxes not use this logic? Oh dear, you're drama-queening now. Who spoke of execution? I just like the idea of a bunch of unwashed lentil-eaters with nose piercings getting a few good nips from some dogs.
