Childrens hospital/babysitting service

Recommended Posts

When my son was little he had pneumonia and stayed in hosp on a few occasions as he suffered bad asthma for a couple of yrs after which required up to a week stay at a time, we were with him 24/7 one of us there, the other at home with the our other son, or sometimes both of us there if nanans were available for the other un. We saw this kind of thing all the time..but worse than that was when the staff told me xmas eve and new yrs eve are terrible on that ward for parents wanting to go out, faking their childs asthma attack in the hope they could leave them overnight... Discraseful... Even down to turning up in their xmas doo gear, full slap and tinsel...

my daughter was ill one night and not really responding to anything.she was all floppy.i waited hours to be seen by ANY one and it wasnt really that busy after being seen and moved around alot my little girl started to come around more and more. we went in at 5 o clock tea time, was still waiting to see a doctor t0 say we could be discharged at half 1 in the morning. around 11 o clock the doctor we where waiting for was stood around outside the room and it was one of the nurses birthday (at a guess ) becuase they where celebrating eating cake together and she was opening presants for about 45 mins.

FAIR DOOZ doctors and nurses do alot at the childrens coz i have been there when its been rammed but there was no excuse to just be stood around doing NOTHING when people want to get their kids home to their bed.

We noticed that when my little boy was in there, his room was right outside the nurses station and if we peered thru the window they would be all stood around chatting (maybe about work or maybe not!) then when we actually needed a nurse there was never one around and we waited for up to an hour one afternoon to get my sons formula.

We got told we would be discharged on the monday we were still there on the tuesday and they said the doctor would be round to give us the all clear tuesday evening to discharge him and we didnt get discharged till 7.30 WEDNESDAY night all because the doctor who was looking after our little boy had gone on holiday and not left any instructions to discharge him!!!
