scoobz   10 #51 Posted September 26, 2009 i was going to join you all for the first time but i've just noticed my hubby has gone off to southport for the weekend with my boots in his car:( maybe next week then mx  What a shame! It's always nice to have new people along, but as you say there's always next week. Just make sure the boots are where you can get them next time! scoobz   10 #54 Posted September 27, 2009 Im not going to make it now... i will wait till you do a shorter one..dont think my fitness is upto that far yet.  That's a shame, cos this is quite an easy walk this one, only one hill and 7.5 miles total. The next 4 walks are all quite hilly, although next week's is only 6 miles. The Rod Moor one is about 6 miles too, but I've a feeling that will be tougher than todays` 7.5 miler, and the other 2 next month are quite testing, but doable for anyone who comes regularly with us. billysmum   10 #55 Posted September 27, 2009 I think everyone enjoyed the walk today, I know I did. The climb at the start of the walk was harder than I thought, but great views once we got up to top. It was so nice to see Shoe and Max633 again, its always nice to catch up. A great big welcome to Pooh's Pal, Pooh and Pooh's sister, hope you had a good day and that we will see you all again soon The Lambs bones we found were amazing, ive never seen a spine before let alone held one. Does anyone know what type of Caterpillar that was that I had in my hands? Thankyou to everyone for making it a great day
 Share this content via...
Village Owl   10 #56 Posted September 27, 2009 Wonderful walk today, I haven't walked Millers Dale in years and it was great to do it in such wonderful company:thumbsup:, some of the views from when we were up high were fantastic:wow:.  Lovely to see Mack633 and Shoe again, thanks for the drink Mack663 you really shouldn't have, I was just about to go to the bar myself:suspect:.  A big welcome to our three newbies Poohs Pal, Pooh and Poohs Sister, I trust you all enjoyed yourselve's and that we'll see you again soon.  I can't help but wonder what stripped that lambs carcass so clean.  As Billysmum says thanks everyone for a great day:clap:. scoobz   10 #57 Posted September 27, 2009 As others have said, real nice to have some new people join us today and hopefully you'll come again before not too long too. Twas nice to not get lost for once today as well, although VO did his best to lead us astray in the car park as we set off . Just a small aberration pal don't worry about it . Some great sights today on what I would describe as an industrial walk, what with the old lime kiln, disused railways, converted mills, mines and all sorts of water wheels and stuff that were beyond my ken . The views from `up top` were good too, but I'm not quite sure where the cafe went that we were supposed to pass . Nice bit of socialising at The George at Tideswell afterwards rounded the day off nicely, and I've got to say that there was a lovely atmosphere on the walk today, with the Shamblers present being Village Owl, Mrpedantic, Anne D, Bruno, Eclaire, Sherwood1, Poppypopstar, Alligin, Lohtse, Keefy, Pooh, Pooh's Pal, Pooh's Sister, Mack633, Shoe, Billysmum, Scoobz, Tiddlywink.
