Hoddock   10 #26 Posted September 18, 2009 Right, so if the match had been played at Hillsborough, all would have been sweetness and light, supporters would have sat in Hillsborough Park making daisy chains for each other and generally feeling the love.....  I sometimes stand and look at the faces in the United crowd, and outside, and struggle to understand that they come from the same city as me. United fans, in general, are without doubt the underclass in this city. A weird looking mob.
 Share this content via...

muckymurphy   10 #28 Posted September 18, 2009 (edited) the police escort fans to the trams stops outside the bankers draft and bully them onto the trams regardless of where the trams are going, they then have to get off at the next stop to get the right tram. the fans are unable to escape to catch buses or taxis. this police tactic is called "kettling" and is used to kill innocent civillians who get caught up in the melee of police/fan/protester events and has been demonstrated recently down south. if the police could, they would call a halt to freshers week like they did with the students pyjama jump. no doubts they have tasers at the ready tonight as they are lagging well behind their US colleagues who have already murdered 300 plus people using tasers. god knows what will happen when they get the new long range (50 mtrs) wireless tasers. anyone who saw the footage of a US cop tasering a woman several times while she was on the ground and totally helpless will shudder with disbelief as i did. when will our police start dealing with the more serious crime instead of creating criminal records out of minor misdemeanors that the ordinary man in the street would just have received a ticking off for not so long ago. last time i called them out it took the 10 hours to turn up. i should have realised it was a bank holiday monday and they were pulled out watching a football match at owlerton, silly me! nobody bothered to tell the criminal that the police were too busy to deal with his crime, no - silly ******* here and my insurer had to pay the £1500 cost of the damage that some **** did. the rise in the number of murders in sheffield is due to the police getting their priorities wrong and inciting crime where their isnt any, then sitting on their arses about serious crime til someone is dead. perhaps i should become a serious criminal - i would be pretty safe in sheffield. if i have offended anyone with this -TOUGH ****. its annoying that police are chasing their targets for certain crimes by inciting groups into creating havoc just by having a heavy and intimidating police presence wherever there is a celebratory event. Hoddock   10 #30 Posted September 18, 2009 You seem very bitter that you lost, you need to get used to it; until the next derby.  Not bitter at all, fair result in the end. I'm just glad it wasn't the 5-0/6-0 I expected at half time. The biggest laugh for me was the 2 large footballs promoting the Sheffield World Cup bid. If either club think they have any chance of staging a World Cup game then they are seriously deluded. Both grounds are old fashioned dumps. I'm not a fan of either side, but having been as a Home and Away supporter at Hillsborough, and a Home supporter twice at Bramall Lane, my opinion is that Hillsborough is a much bigger dump. And thats an impartial view.
 Share this content via...
Carborundum   10 #34 Posted September 18, 2009 Don't know, but if they are, they should open a bar lol. Well it's all quiet down near The Wicker, if that helps anyone, but can hear the copper chopper.  is it beating your door down now then ;-)
 Share this content via...

And thats an impartial view.  The away end at Brammall Lane is a toilet. It'll take more than a 3*+ hotel to impress FIFA. Hillsborough is no better either btw.
