Problems with Norton

Recommended Posts

My 60 days free Norton has expired and I have tried to install a new one. However, the old one won't uninstall, nether manually or by the computer.

Can anyone advise on this please?

Undisputed king of bloatware. Once on there, is almost impossible to remove all traces - the uninstall procedure is an absolute joke. Best avoid unnecessary pc pollution and get something lean & fit for purpose like avg. Could save you some pennies too.

Norton used to be crap and bloated, but the latest 2009-2010 versions are fantastic. Uses much less ram than anything else on the market.

Oh, and by the way, AVG free is one of the most bloated AV's on the market now, and it doesn't stop Rootkit viruses.

Apologies if I stand corrected .. not really my area anymore. How much is Norton these days, and wtf is a Rootkit virus when it's at home?

Advice please *hurriedly runs scan*

Will do - just so long as it's guaranteed to sort Rootkit viruses out ..
