piskeymax   10 #1 Posted August 24, 2009 As it says tinsley towers were demolished 1 year ago today. Driving into sheffield just isnt the same without them. I always felt a bit fed up coming back to sheffield after my hols but now the towers are gone its even worse - I wonder if EON still think they did the right thing? satman2222 Â Â 10 #5 Posted August 24, 2009 They have only just started clearing up the rubble and reducing it to hardcore! Don't expect anything else happening in a hurry!
 Share this content via...
SYorksDeano   10 #6 Posted August 24, 2009 I still miss the towers, but have noticed that despite E:ON saying that they needed to be demolished because they were unsafe and they had plans for the land that the towers were sat on, nothing has happened. No planning permission or nothing.  So was E:ON just lying to the residents of Sheffield and Rotherham? My own personal opinion is that the towers could have stayed up longer, and that whatever plans E:ON had for the site, then the towers could have been incorporated.  But like people have said before, money talks............ Weathergirl   10 #12 Posted August 24, 2009 There were no need to take them down. They were there since 1942 i think. Wasn't hurting anything!  It looks soo different! They should be ashamed of themselves taking heart of Sheffield away! Piece of History.
 Share this content via...
