curious   10 #2 Posted August 13, 2009 hi, my parents live in longley and on a quiet night you can when in the garden just about hear the hum of the motorway all the way over there, but it's by no means noisy. my sisters live in wincobank and they watched the tinsley cooling towers being destroyed from their bedroom windows. they have never even mentioned the motorway noise, and the youngest has been there 12 years this year. you can hear it but it is only a hum, and does not interfere in life at all. don't know if this helps or not. HeadingNorth   11 #5 Posted August 13, 2009 I don't know Woolley Wood, but I have in the past lived within a hundred yards of a motorway, and due to it being the other side of a hill bank and a copse of trees, we barely heard a thing - other than on quiet nights. Andy   10 #9 Posted August 14, 2009 I used to live near a motorway, when I was a child. Never noticed the noise at all, but strangely, I noticed it was missing when I moved out and away.
 Share this content via...
