BasilRathbon   10 #14 Posted August 12, 2009 The council will collect it from outside your house, costs about £32, free if you're a council tenant. You aren't supposed to pay anyone to take it to the council dumpit sites as then it would be classed as trade waste.  And with a bit of luck you may even get your name and photo in the papers, as happened with this unfortunate family.  http://www.southportforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=50372360  Indicentally that story that won the Southport Advertiser the Most Trivial Local News Story 2007 Award. First, you need to remove any upholstery (using Stanley knife) so that you see the frame and know where to whack! Sometimes the side bits are held on with big bolt things, so you can remove them (use WD40 if they're a bit stiff). If not, a few good thumps usually sorts out joints. If you've got long pieces that need breaking up, take them outside and rest one end on a step or something, then you can jump on them to smash them in half. But make sure you're holding onto something when you jump, so you don't just bounce back!!!
 Share this content via...
