Does Children's television matter?

We spend many hours teaching our kids to walk and talk, then as soon as they can do it proficiently we tell them to sit down and shut up. We teach them over many years about Father Christmas , that he comes from Lapland and delivers presents to children all over the world, then when they are about 6, if they mention Father Christmas we tell them not to be silly he does not exist. On top of that we have childrens TV and stupid pointless video games and formal education. I am becoming increasingly amazed by how children survive formal education which is forever changing!......Then, of course we expect them through all this to grow up to be adjusted!
