Attercliffe area bad smells

There's always a lot of weird smells around Attercliffe; there's an onion-processing plant in Carlisle Street near Spital Hill (Sheffield Foods) and also a mysterious sickly-sweet smell at all hours of day and night, like a factory making candyfloss or boiled sweets, around the same area, but I have never been able to locate the source...

Maybe Dottydot is new to the area; I notice this was their first post; welcome to the Forum, Dottydot.

 

Another less pleasant smell around Attercliffe might be from the Tinsley sewage works if there is a northerly wind blowing, but that smell barely extends aney further south than Meadowhall... Then there is the metallic/burning smell that comes from the scrapyards, car-repair, metalworking places....
