Firefox Extensions - What do you use?

Recommended Posts

I only use 3 extensions as I prefer to keep it as simply as possible

ABP - obviously

NoScript - as a security measure but also useful to stop annoyances like autoplaying video and music on sites.

DownloadThemAll - Just found this the other day - it has replaced flashget - great for downloading all the images or mp3s from a page.

That's all I use - what are your favourites / recommendations?

Ad Block Plus

Firebug

Ghostery

Stumbleupon

Targeted Advertising Cookie Opt-Out

Xmarks

And now TamperData, thanks Ghozer...

Strange, try posting "ad block" without the space & the forum software censors it.

Firebug

ColorZilla

One for screenshots, I think it's FireShots but I'm not on the right OS to check.

Ubiquity - great concept that just needs a bit more polish

I only really use firefox for webdev work, for anything else Safari or Chrome (when on Windows) is preferable to me.

  • British English Dictionary - for spell checking in forms
  • PlainOldFavorites - to use the same favourites as IE, I have IE as well for accessing a few of my customers sites that require it so I use this to keep the favourites in step, it also means you can use windows favourites from the start button
  • Menu Editor - so I can disable the Bookmarks menu entry and just use Favourites instead

I prefer it because its all in the extension - where as FlashGet needs an external download manager (I think). It seems to do the same job just as well, but now I don't need to have Leech installed as well.

Thanks for the tips - Ghostery and TACO look like they are worth having.

I noticed the Ad Block Plus censorship last week...

I've also found that DownloadThemAll seems to squeeze some extra speed out of my downloads compared to Flashget.
