Keenone   10 #18 Posted July 31, 2012 I came back from holiday and entered the house, all was well, the alarm started to beep as normal. when I put the disarm code in it had no effect - still beeping. The alarm then went off and I had to stop it by disconnecting the battery.  My neighbour told me there had been a power cut (about 4 hours) while I was away.  I had a similar problem a few months ago and got en engineer to come out. He tested the battery and said it was ok. He reset the system and all was well. It was 10 minutes work for £85.  There must be something wrong for it to fall over each time there is a power cut?  Any ideas on what might be the problem and how to reset my system from its current state - fuse out and battery disconnected? ringworm29 Â Â 10 #21 Posted July 21, 2013 (edited) hi saxondale. if you or any other engineers could sort this for me I would appreciate .it veritas v8 polycab panel. once the eixt or entry tone has finished and is left to alarm the speaker emits an even louder buzzing but not a proper alarm wailing sound. Any ideas?,,,cheers r29 Edited July 21, 2013 by ringworm29
 Share this content via...
GrahamY Â Â 10 #22 Posted July 21, 2013 If the alarm activates on a power cut the battery is failing. They don't last forever.
 Share this content via...
ringworm29   10 #23 Posted July 21, 2013 (edited) thanks for getting back.. this is a new system and all was working fine . when I first installed it the buzzer would work fines and if I left it to alarm the speaker would omit an alarm sound ,,but now after a couple of weeks it is more a very loud vibrating buzzer sound. the battery is new and is holding 13,4 volts I have changed the 16 ohm speaker and it is the same  ---------- Post added 21-07-2013 at 11:04 ----------  this buzzing may be normal but would like to know for future fittings. thanks for getting back to me,,,r29 Edited July 21, 2013 by ringworm29
 Share this content via...
ste6t9 Â Â 10 #24 Posted July 23, 2013 Hi there, Having exactly the same problem here. Moved in, no codes and the engineer code has been changed. I know this because the unhelpful man at texecom had me try various combinations of 1234 and 4321 with no success. Â Then last night a power cut and about 1 hour into it, the alarm goes off. I assume this is a battery problem and I ended up opening the box and pulling a small fuse out to silence it. Â Any advice is welcome, even if only to tell me it's screwed. Â Cheers
 Share this content via...
