Growing up in Beighton

The pete cooper I know goes in the fox and his dad is called norman.

 

I also know the lancasters who hav been mentioned.

In the sixties the lancasters lived on cross allen road.

Another big familly on allen road were the pearsons.

Hi jl-heating. I can't remember the Coopers you mention....it's such a long time ago! You say Suzanne went to school with Susan Lambert. Susan is probably related to me but I'm not sure who she is. Maybe one of my cousin's daughters.

Yes I grew up in beighton during that time and remeber Sandra Lancaster. Some others from that time Daivd Fox mentioned I think one of the other posts, Malcolm fox (no relation) Linda Bishop, June Sargent, Pauline Adamson, Billy Jepson, Leslie Simmonite, Eric Fox, Tony Johnson lived in the OLD george and Dragon, Dave Grundill,Cedric Oates and many others.

There was a big family of coopers in beighton.

Bob and Martin are steel erectors.

Bob lives on Allen Road in the pearsons old house.

Martin lived behind the Fox pub.

my name is andrew durham and i live in blackpool and i was looking up information about my late grandad leslie durham who lived in beighton along with my dad barry durham who grew up in beighton too and wondered if any of you knew them and wondered if my grandad was that youth club worker at church that was mentioned...

Hi Andrew

If I have ages right Barry your dad should be around 66 if so we went to school same time and yes his Dad was the youth club leader in the old church hall.

Simple times but good table tennis, playing the gramphone, etc

They lived in flat topped council houses on Armsted rd

My mum worked at that youth club in the sixties, she used to teach the girls hairdressing and make up etc.
