Getting a full motorcycle license..

My boyfriend is shortly turning 25 and wants a motorbike license.

 

Can anyone recommend a good place to learn which is a decent rate?

 

Also, what are the exact ins and outs of obtaining a full license?

 

Is a CBT, theory then practical? Then you can drive any bike? And does it make a difference that he will be 25 and has had a full driving licence for 6-7 years?

He can ride a 125 on L plates - he has to pass a CBT though.

KK rider training in Sheffield are highly recommended, I will be going to them very soon.

Try ATB rider training... I passed first time with them for a full Direct access class A licence. I and a few of the people i've thrown their way really cannot recommend them enough...

A CBT does not include the theory test and is simply a certificate that's states the road worthiness of the rider. Its a sort of 2 year provisional license specifically for motorcycles. And yes you will need to book a theory test seperately from the CBT even if you hold a full car licence.

A colleague and 2 of my cousins both all did a 5 day intensive course (Direct Access Course) where you can ride anything at the end of it. Cost was about £600 (a few years ago) I think but they all passed 1st time.
