depoix   11 #145 Posted July 17, 2009 My point was the lack of consideration for somebody already eating a mealeating a meal in a smoking designated area then complaining about a smoker, doesnt that just shout out arrogance ? Bruno   10 #146 Posted July 17, 2009 Designated smoking area's should be for people who want to smoke, same as there is designated dissabled toilets and parking for people with dissabilities
 Share this content via...
SnailyBoy   10 #147 Posted July 17, 2009 eating a meal in a smoking designated area then complaining about a smoker, doesnt that just shout out arrogance ?  Arrogance?  lol....So let me get this right.  A diner goes to a pub for a meal, fancies eating it outside because of the nice weather and nobody is smoking.  A smoker appears during the meal and starts smoking without any consideration for the diner. A simple...'do you mind?', or just waited for them to finish.  Therefore the diner is arrogant?
 Share this content via...

How do you know other smokers where not present? Also you have missed the part that has been said that the smoking area is a SMALL part of a LARGE Beer garden. She could have sat in a 'non smoking area' of the beer garden, but chose not to?  I think with this and her reactions do indeed show arrogance. segasonic   11 #152 Posted July 17, 2009 My Bold   So from that I guess she was there first.  Also do you think she would have eaten there if someone was already smoking, or maybe just waiting for the OP?  Waiting for the OP is exactly what she was doing. She could have sat anywhere in the large beer garden, but chose to sit in the smoking area. Sooner or later someone's gonna spark up, then she gets to tell them what to do. And fail. depoix   11 #153 Posted July 17, 2009 My Bold   So from that I guess she was there first.  Also do you think she would have eaten there if someone was already smoking, or maybe just waiting for the OP? smal boy,it was obvious she sat under the awning rather than take a table specifically designated elswhere for non smokers ,why would she do that ? dont you think that she thought ..sod it i can sit and do what i like despite what the sign says..pure and simple arrogance on her part
 Share this content via...
mightysimo   10 #154 Posted July 17, 2009 My Bold   So from that I guess she was there first.  Also do you think she would have eaten there if someone was already smoking, or maybe just waiting for the OP?  Yes, she did politly ask, but that does not prove that she was there before him he might have been sat there supping his drink before she turned up  Also it's not wrong for a smoker to assume another person in a smoking area is not a non smoker? How did he know? Don't you think it's silly to ask someone who you think doestthe same as you?  Don't you think it's stupid for example to go in a pub and go to the bar then say to the person stood/sat at said bar, who is not the barstaff "Excuse me, do you mind that I buy and drink a beverage from here?"  I think it is.
